Tasting Victorianbourg Wines From Niagara County, New York
Today I am tasting wines from Victorianbourg Wine Estate in Niagara County, New York. These are all slightly flavored wines but they are made with New York State grapes to start with. The first one up that I’m going to be tasting is the Pechette which is a Chardonnay based wine, flavored with real white peaches grown in New York State. It smells like peaches right away, that very ripe peach aroma which is nice. You can faintly smell the Chardonnay underneath and it has a slight frizzante to it. Like a little very light effervescence, which adds to the flavors. You can sense that there’s a flavor of Chardonnay underneath which makes it not just a sugary, too sweet of a wine. It adds some complexity to it as well. This is very nice and very refreshing chilled for the summer time.
Raspberries & Strawberries In Wine
The next one up is the Toriamour which has some red fruit in it. I believe this is also a Chardonnay base, we’ll see what it’s got in it. It definitely has some strawberries and raspberries. This one is a little bit sweeter and a little bit more overpowered by that fruity sweetness but again it’s not just pure sugar. It has that fresh fruit type of sweetness which is nice. It doesn’t leave you feeling like you just ate a bunch of candy, it feels like you just had a mouth full of berries. It’s very smooth, very easy drinking, little bit less complex than the Pechette.
Chocolate Wine…Yum!
Last up we have Victoria’s Chocolate Obsession. This is a blend of five New York State red grapes, then infused with milk chocolate and strawberries. It is kind of like a chocolate-covered strawberry. It smells like a chocolate covered strawberry, very chocolatey and lots of strawberry notes coming through as well. It is sweet, but again it is not super sweet. It doesn’t leave your mouth coated in sugar. There is some concord grape in it, you get that grapey flavor along with the chocolate and the strawberry. The chocolate overpowers everything else which is nice for a little after dinner drink or evening by the fire. That’s it for our wines from Victorianbourg Wine Estate up in Niagara County New York.
Hope you enjoyed this, please feel free to send us your questions and comments. We look forward to see you soon, cheers!
