Description
Two Hands Lily’s Garden Shiraz
The idea for Two Hands was born in September 1999 when founders Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz sat at a friend’s engagement party and decided it was time to make their own wine and market it on the world stage.
The original aim was, and still is, to make the best possible Shiraz-based wines from prized growing regions throughout Australia. With so much Australian wine being sold around the globe under multi-region labels in a formulaic style, the intention was to break the mould and showcase the diversity of Australian Shiraz by highlighting regional and vineyard characteristics by allowing the fruit to be the primary feature of the wines.
Two Hands source premium fruit from six of the finest Shiraz growing regions in Australia, from which we produce the Garden Series. Fascinated about isolating a wine to its region and wanting to define and showcase the individual characteristics of the best Australian Shiraz growing regions, Two Hands Wines has successfully demonstrated regionality within Australian Shiraz for many years with the Garden Series.
Two Hands Lily’s Garden Shiraz features a deep dark red color, tending bright red at the meniscus. Notes of spiced plum, blueberry pie with hits of musk stick, warm vanilla and pain grille. Full bodied with lashings of spice, plums, blueberry jam and milk chocolate. Tannins are round, bold and chewy then tighten through the finish. Hedonistic in style with complexing notes of mocha coffee beans, vanilla pod and clove. Incredibly long and persistent through the finish.
