Description
The Prisoner Wine Company Saldo Chenin Blanc
At Saldo, we look to explore the unknown, reconsider the overlooked, and uncover what’s next in the world of wine. Our winemaking team is unafraid to explore uncharted territory and challenge preconceived notions of luxury to bring you high quality wines you didn’t see coming.
The name, Saldo, comes from the Italian word for “I join or I weld” and was chosen to reflect our winemaking approach to welding together our wines from grapes from the best vineyards across the world. Saldo winemakers are meticulous in their craft, joining and welding together wines that aim to stay off the beaten track and open people’s minds to what fine wine can really be.
The Saldo packaging is decidedly simple. The dymo label is a call back to the very first bottle produced, when their founding winemaker brought a bottle straight from the lab to his first buyer meeting. The simple label was so eye-catching and unique that it stuck through the years. Our simple design approach has stuck to this day, as we continue to focus our efforts on blending the perfect wines, ensuring what’s in the bottle is our number one priority.
Saldo Chenin Blanc is comprised of 90% Chenin Blanc, 7% Muscat and 3% Verdelho. The wine shows of a pale yellow color with green highlights. Aromas of pineapple, white peach and brown spice jump from the glass. These same notes follow through onto the palate, with bright notes of honey crisp apple. Fresh, balanced and crisp, this is summer in a bottle.
