Tenuta Amalia Barone Bartolomeo Sangiovese Superiore DOC
Emilia-Romagna runs across the top of the Italian peninsula, south of the Po River, from the Adriatic Sea. It’s capital and largest city is Bologna. It combines two historical areas: Emilia to the west and Romagna to the East. This region is best known for making Lambrusco wines, while the regions primary grown grapes are Trebbiano, Lambrusco and Sangiovese.
WINEMAKING:
Tenuta Amalia Barone Bartolomeo spends 10-15 days of maceration in temperature controlled stainless steel vats, 6 months fining in stainless steel tanks. The wine is intense, smooth with hints of violets, undergrowth berries and red fruits. Pair with a variety of meats, soft cheeses and deli meats.
