Description
Louis Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Louis M. Martini’s decision to settle in Napa Valley was driven by a desire to craft exceptional wines by sourcing the best fruit possible. In the years that followed Prohibition, he established a legacy of craftsmanship and a passion for Napa Valley that continues to this day. Their history reflects the vision, ingenuity and endurance of a family committed to making the best Cabernet Sauvignon possible.
When he first settled in Napa Valley, Louis M. Martini sought to source from the most coveted vineyards in the region. With the 1938 purchase of the Goldstein Ranch in the Mayacamas Mountains, he embarked on a new chapter in advanced viticulture and vineyard-driven winemaking. The vineyard, renamed Monte Rosso for its red volcanic soils, has since become the emblematic source of some of our most sought-after releases. Today, they continue to source the best grapes possible from Napa Valley and beyond.
Winemaker Notes
After early morning harvesting, the grapes were gently de-stemmed and put into upright tanks to cold soak for up to three days. During fermentation, the wine was given pump-overs three times a day and kept on skins for 15 to 20 days of maceration. The wine was then transferred to French (25% new) oak barrels for 18 months.
Tasting Notes
Louis Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon features an intensely, dark purple color. Aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and sage greet the senses.
