Ayres Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
Ayres Willamette Valley Pinot Noir uses Ribbon Ridge estate fruit and our leased vineyard, Oliver Vineyard, within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA experienced a warm growing season early on mixed with some pacific northwest showers in 2019. The result is an elegant and refined expression of Pinot Noir with notable bing cherry, plums and mulberry balanced with the Ribbon Ridge earth element.
SOIL
Marine sedimentary (mixture of sand-clay-seashells)
VITICULTURE
Vineyards are dry farmed and organic farming practices are employed. The Ayres Estate vineyard has been LIVE certified since 2007.
VINIFICATION
Wines are fermented in open top, 2 ton fermenters using all indigenous yeasts for both primary and secondary fermentations. A small amount of whole clusters were used.
AGING
10 months in French oak, with 15% being new
