Jameson Irish Whiskey Caskmate Stout Edition

We’ve been distilling Jameson since 1780 but we’re always open to new ideas. So when a local craft brewer borrowed our casks to age their fine Irish stout, it gave us an idea; why not finish our own precious liquid in stout – seasoned oak barrels? The result is Jameson Caskmates, a special edition whiskey that accentuates the trademark smoothness of Jameson Original with additional rich flavors of coffee, cocoa, and a gentle hint of hops.

An initial aroma of freshly cut hay is complemented by a crisp orchard fruit character of green apples and pears, with a twist of lime zest. Mild pot still spices appear, deepening from green tea to hazelnut and milk chocolate. The palate is initially sweet and coats the mouth but is quickly complemented by the subtle touch of hops and cocoa beans from the beer cask finish. The finish is long and sweet with milk chocolate and butterscotch notes.
