This is a single malt from the Miyagikyo distillery, the second distillery of Nikka in Sendi. Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka selected this place because it is completely enclosed by mountains and at the junction of two clean rivers. Miyagikyo’s clear water, suitable humidity and crisp air produce soft and mild malt. This whisky, stored and matured for 12 years or more in oak casks, is characterized by a fruity nose with a hint of vanilla and a sweet, well balanced palate.
