Description
Weingut Eck Dry Riesling
Our family has been viticulture for over 300 years. In 1704, the family coat of arms of King Joseph I was given to our ancestor, Zacharia’s Keller. He had protected the king from attackers and therefore was given the coat of arms for him and his descendants because of clever and courageous behavior on the stairs of the town hall and conscientious treatment of the wines of the royal court.
Until the middle of the last century, today’s winery was an almost self-sufficient mixed business. As was often the case in the countryside at that time, people lived on its products, whether must, milk, sausage, eggs or apples… and the wine was then sold to the cooperative in barrels or pigeons.
After generations in agriculture and viticulture, Günter Eck began to bottle part of the wine in 1957 and to market it directly. This was a courageous step at the time and with it the foundation stone for the winery – as you know it today – was laid.
Weingut Eck Riesling is a dry, fruity Riesling with a strong acidity.
