Description
Arrowhead Spring Pinot Noir
We produce wines that reflect the thoughtfully chosen soils and climates from which they emanate. We respect our surroundings, maintain good stewardship of the land, uphold our commitment to the principles of sustainable farming and seek a deeper understanding of the natural living systems around us and our vineyard.
Great wine starts in the vineyards. Cluster thinning, leaf removal, shoot thinning and balanced pruning all lead to grapes that are balanced, flavorful and optimized for winemaking. Traditional wine making methods are employed to create wine reflective of our terroir, with minimal intervention.
The Niagara Escarpment has limestone-based soils dating from the Paleozoic era when the land was under a warm sea abundant with corals and shellfish. Combined with abundant summer sunshine and a cooler climate moderated by Lake Ontario, our vineyards produce balanced wines.
Arrowhead Spring Pinot Noir features a light garnet color and is aged 18 months in small oak barrels. Aromas of red fruits jump out of the glass with hints of earth. The palate starts off with flavors of vibrant cherries and raspberries, quickly balanced out by well balanced acidity with undertones of mushrooms. The finish is clean and refreshing, leaving lingering notes of cherry and spice.
