Cade Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Cade Estate wines are made by the esteemed winery, Plumpjack.

The CADE Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from four vineyards on Howell Mountain, including our vineyards at CADE Estate and 13th Vineyard, Ink Grade Vineyard, and Cold Springs Vineyard. The 2021 vintage started on September 10th with fruit from the Ink Grade Vineyard and finished on October 12th with fruit from 13th Vineyard.

The wine received 19 months barrel aging in 100% French oak (79% new). Malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel immediately after primary fermentation. The wine was racked quarterly once malolactic fermentation was complete. Beautiful aromas of cherry, raspberry, cranberry, cocoa nibs, baked red delicious apples, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee, followed by rhubarb pie, cinnamon, clove, red cherry, and boysenberry flavors on the palate. The wine has that classic Howell Mountain structure with great density and length. The 2021 vintage was warm and early but produced wines with great length, texture, bountiful fruit, and elegance.
