Casa Santos Lima was created to continue the activity developed by the Santos Lima family for several generations. This activity was initiated by Joaquim Santos Lima, who, at the end of the 19th century, was already a great producer and exporter of wines. Maria João Santos Lima and José Luís Santos Lima Oliveira da Silva, granddaughter and great-grandson of the founder, relaunched the company in 1990, having replanted a large part of the vineyards, improving the vineyard’s vineyards and modernizing the entire production structure.

As part of the activity of bottling quality wine, the company developed a multi-brand strategy from an early age, favoring products with excellent quality / price ratio.

In 1996, the first bottled wines started to be sold – Quinta da Espiga, Quinta das Setencostas, Palha-Canas and some varietals, which immediately had great success in the national and international markets. Currently, about 90% of the total production is exported to close to 50 countries on 5 continents. This great export vocation is fundamentally due to the excellent quality-price ratio of its wines, an integral part of the company’s attitude and philosophy. This fact has been confirmed in a systematic way by the attribution of numerous prizes and favorable reviews by the specialized press and the attribution of “Best Buy” references.

In a more recent past, the company fulfilled an expansion plan for other regions such as the Douro, Vinhos Verdes, Alentejo and Algarve with acquisitions of new properties and companies or partnerships with local producers. Casa Santos Lima now has an even more complete and diversified offer ready to respond to the demands of the markets.

It is belived that the origins of vines in the Portuguese territory goes back as far as 2000 B.C., having benefited from the cotribute of several ancient civilizations that used to occupy these lands. What is undeniable is the tradition and impact that wine has given to Portugal along the centuries. A country with a vast variety if native grapes and incomparable skills to combine the best way possible in order to produce quality wines.

This “Red Blend Portugal” pays home to the Portuguese producers’ art to take the best out of each grab to create the perfect blend. The blend presents a nice ruby color and an extremely aromatic exuberance of red fruit. Smooth and elegant, aged 4 months in oak and balanced acidity, this wine offers delicious flavors on the palate.
