Orin Swift Locations California Red Blend 750ml
Geographic diversity is what Locations – CA is all about. Provided with a wide assortment of microclimates and soil profiles to exploit, it can be a winemakers dream. With a goal in mind to create a blend that showcases the best of the Golden State, we navigated the famed appellations of Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and the Sierra Foothills for prized fruit. Once secured, we were able to apply some creativity with the blending compo- nents to ultimately settle on a wine worthy of Locations. Inspired by our international projects, the same philosophy is applied to this third release.
Winemakers Notes
Veiled in dark ruby red, the wine bursts with a tempting perfume of red and black fruits, dried rose petals, and a peppery note which offers some lift. Dense and ripe upon first pass, it evolves into a savory compote of raspberry, kirsch, and bitter cherry balanced out with mineral and herbal notes. The finish is substantial with tangy acidity, yet buffered with polished tannins that please the palate.

Red Wine:
Bringing out the best aromas and flavors of red wine can be achieved through the correct storage of temperature, generally between 50 to 55 degrees. Of course, this is a general rule of thumb as it depends on the grapes used when producing wine. There are so many health benefits due to the tannin. Procyanidins are a type of condensed tannin that is found in green tea and dark chocolate. Speaking of health young red wines are better than old as they have more tannin. However, as red wine ages, they become lighter. Very old wines are translucent and pale.
Vitis vinifera originating from Eastern Europe makes up most of the common varieties of red wine. The aromas of red wine come from grapes only. Cherry, berry, jam, and herbs are all from fermented grapes and wine aging in oak barrels. Pretty simple for such a rich, complex, and tasteful wine!
