For more than four decades, my life has followed the rhythms of making wine in the center of Napa Valley. Like my Dad, Charlie, and generations before him my interest lies with what’s happening in the vineyard – and how that will translate into our next expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Each year, the whims of mother nature present us with unique conditions, and 2013 gave us plenty to work with it was a great year for all of California and especially Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon – last vintage, we celebrated 40 years of producing Caymus – this vintage sets us on our path to another 40 years. It is, in my mind, worth just as much celebrating, rich and balanced, embodying our style of Cabernet.
